Confidence in Public-Private Partnerships

The peruvian Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) entrusted PROINVERSIÓN with two new project packages to be concessioned through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) modality, which together demand an estimated investment of around US$ 4.2 billion.

This involves the commissioning of a PPP portfolio of 21 road corridor conservation projects and a Group of Airports that includes the operation and maintenance of the Chinchero airport, which is currently being executed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The scope of the 21 road corridor conservation projects is nationwide (Annex No. 1). Their objective is to strengthen the connection among regions and to link national and international markets, promoting road integration as a means to reactivate local economy and benefit users and population in the area of influence, with sustainable levels of service that ensure traffic 365 days a year, reducing travel times and logistic costs.

From this package, the conservation costs for the maintenance and operation of 19 roads   will amount approximately US$ 2.5 billion; while the other two roads will require rehabilitation, improvement, operation and maintenance works whose investment amounts are preliminarily estimated at US$ 1.1 billion.
